The agreement between Marvel and Hasbro continues to go strong as yet another collection is announced. First, it was ROM: The Original Years Omnibus Volume 1, and then just a few days later, it was announced that MICRONAUTS: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Volume 1 will arrive on shelves. Now, Rom the Spaceknight continues to recount his adventures through the Marvel Universe with ROM: The Original Years Omnibus Volume 2.
The follow-up collection, which is set for a June 2024 release, will pick up where the first omnibus left off as it recounts the Spaceknights battles and team-ups with the heroes of the world right outside your window. Volume 2 collects issues #30-50 and annuals #1-2 of Rom’s solo series, along with Marvel Two-in-One #99, which features a crossover with Rogue of the X-Men.
Just like with Volume 1, the book is heralded with ROM #1 Facsimile Edition that releases September, kicking off the year of Rom. Volume 1 will launch in January 2024 with Volume 2 to follow. Also like Volume 1, the new omnibus is set to receive a new cover for the collection from a legendary creator. This time around, Bill Sienkiewicz provides the main cover, while Mike Zeck illustrates the direct market variant cover.
Marvel and Hasbro have shared a detailed synopsis for the omnibus and the covers by Sienkiewicz and Zeck, which can be seen below:
Locked in an endless struggle with the Dire Wraiths, Rom’s solemn quest to eradicate them from Earth brings him into conflict with the Metal Master and his army of spiders, Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and more! The Spaceknight joins Namor to battle monsters of the deep, and Shang-Chi lends his deadly hands to thwart the Wraiths’ black magic! Meanwhile, Rom’s human friend Brandy Clark is transformed, and the impending arrival of the dreaded Dweller on the Threshold may spell doom for all! It’s a cosmic epic featuring Doctor Strange, the In-Betweener, the Living Tribunal…and the human form of Rom?! Has he been freed from his armor at long last? All that, plus the Skrulls, the ever-lovin’ Thing — and a tragedy that even Rom cannot withstand!
