Marvel unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine: WIII miniseries by writer Joe Kelley, artist Adam Kubert, and colorist Frank Martin. Releasing in May, the three part story follows as the duo battles a new supervillain, Delta, while taking down a cabal dedicated to pitting the heroes against each other. This title, along with the Weapon X-Traction back-up story, channel the apparent tone of the upcoming Wolverine & Deadpool movie.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Kelley spoke about the direction of the series, stating:
“We’ve seen both guys get put through the physical ringer in many ways, and part of the fun is trying to one-up the next person, or whoever played with these characters before you, but always in service of the story. And I think in this case, my hope at least, is that we came up with a way to use these guys’ very, very unique abilities in a way that reflects what’s going on with them emotionally.”
Along with the trailer, Marvel also shared a look at the first set of variant covers for the series, including Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld, Inhyuk Lee, Gabriele Dell’Otto, and Todd Nauck.
