In the aftermath of a new trailer for Blood Hunt and the announcement of the full line-up of tie-ins, Marvel also revealed the first details about issue two of the summer event. The sophomore issue continues from the creative team of writer Jed MacKay, artist Pepe Larraz, and colorist Marte Gracia. The series sees the vampires of the Marvel universe banding together and blocking out the sun, allowing them to spread across the world with little natural resistances. The Avengers turn to Doctor Strange for help in stopping the deadly monsters but the Sorcerer Supreme is bloodied and in no position to help.
In the press release, Jed MacKay discussed the supernatural tone of the series, stating:
“I think vampires are a very fun part of the Marvel Universe. You can enjoy them on a surface level as adding a little spookiness to a book, or you can get as deep as you like into the long-running Marvel history of vampires, which is as elaborate as any other part of it (and the fact that Dracula is there is a source of endless delight)! Blood Hunt is just the latest chapter in the long-running vampire mythos of Marvel vampires—and they’re stepping out of the darkness in a big way.”
Alongside the details about issue two, Marvel also revealed the first look at Larraz’s cover for the installment.
