Tony Stark Goes On Offense in New Iron Man #1 Trailer

Marvel unveiled the trailer for October’s Iron Man relaunch from writer Spencer Ackerman, artist Julius Ohta, and colorist Alex Sinclair. Coming off the heels of Gerry Duggan’s Invincible Iron Man, which saw the hero lose his company, write a tell-all book, and marry and then divorce Emma Frost, this new series puts Stark into survival mode as Roxxon and A.I.M partner together. The trailer offered a look at this new status quo, along with the newest armor for the Iron Man suit, which goes on the offense with a giant sword.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Ackerman spoke about the approach to Stark’s character, stating:

“Down to the armor Iron Man is wearing, Tony is in pure survival mode from jump. The stakes start out very high and escalate from there. A big theme of this run is going to be scale — the pursuit of it, the maintenance of it, the cost of it. We’ve seen Tony cross some very serious moral lines in the past. Now we’re going to scale them up.”
