Tiny Onion Press announced the next Artists in Residence initiative, Tyler Boss, who joins previous creators Jordie Bellaire and Aditya Bidikar. The program offers an alternative to the standard comic company’s exclusive contract, putting a focus on developing the residents as creators in multiple disciplines.
Eric Harburn, the Director of Editorial for Tiny Onion, spoke about Boss’s creative track record, stating:
“From 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank to What’s the Furthest Place From Here? and beyond, Tyler has proven himself to be one of the most exciting artists in comics. But readers owe it to themselves to check out Dead Dog’s Bite, one of the most confident, daring debuts for a writer in the past decade-plus. We are incredibly proud to welcome Tyler to the Artist in Residence initiative, and to work with him as both a writer and an artist on a variety of upcoming projects.”
Additionally, You’ll Do Bad Things, a new series written by Boss with art by Adriano Turtulici and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, was developed and packaged by Tiny Onion Press. That series is set to release through Image Comics this March.
Boss discussed the opportunity from Tiny Onion, stating:
“I really believe in what Tiny Onion is creating and building, so to be a part of it in this capacity… I feel great incredulity. The support James and Co. are providing to creators is unprecedented.”
