Upcoming Marvel Collected Editions – Spring 2024

It’s that time of the year! 

The time of the year when the Edelweiss Random House catalog for Marvel hits the web and we can see how our wallets will suffer next year! And suffer next year our wallets will. There’s some serious firepower coming out of the archives.

Here in this article you’ll find some highlights and descriptions of upcoming releases that range from February 2024 to July 2024. These catalogs will most likely expand over time, but that’s no reason not to get excited now!

Before going forward, remember, all collected editions discussed below can be ordered through your local comic shop. Some omnibi even have special covers you can ONLY GET THROUGH COMIC SHOPS.

So, without further ado…Let’s get into it! Let’s take a look at some of the new books hitting our shelves next year!

The Highlights

First off is the Official Handbook of The Marvel Universe: Master Edition Omnibus vol. 1. Now, if you’ve been keeping your eye on releases over the past few years, you’ll know the Handbook has had a good few omni releases. But the master edition is THE edition to have. This was the set you had as a kid that you’d put in a binder. If you know what that meant, congrats, you’re old and I work in a comic shop. Anyways! Vol. 1 will cover half the master edition with #s 1-36. It has a released date of February 6th, 2024 and will run you $100 usd.

 

Our next title we’re looking at is a Thunderbolts Red Omnibus! This is the Thunderbolts run that Daniel Way scripted back in 2012. This series has not had a collected release since it was coming out month to month, so for any fans of that team, this’ll be the omnibus to get! It collectes Thunderbolts (2012) #1-32 plus the annual. That’s the whole series in a lovely hardcover for $100 usd! It’ll be hitting stores on February 13th, 2024. What better gift for your valentine than the gift of comics?

Deadpool seems to be sticking around, cause Deadpool-Verse: Deadpool Corps is coming out on March 12th, 2024! This lovely softcover clocks in at $44.99 usd and collects the Deadpool Corps storyline. That’s Prelude to Deadpool Corps #1-5, Deadpool Corps #1-12 & Deadpool Family #1. That’s a whole lot of Deadpool! And I feel like Deadpool himself would want me to tell you that he hit the multiverse team-up scene before Spider-Man did.

 

This…can’t be right? Beyond the smattering of other Deadpool collections I haven’t mentioned between the last 2 and this one…we’re getting Deadpool vs. Wolverine!? A 336 page collection of 12 issues containing Deadpool and Wolverine’s fights from throughout different eras of comic book history! That’s a softcover that’ll run you $34.99 on April 9th, 2024. It also says in my notes…it gets bigger when it’s a hardcover? But that will cost you extra?

This next one is for those who may have been living under a rock and missed the news. Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus vol. 1 is hitting your local shops on April 16th, 2024! This long awaited collection will contain a mere fraction of Marvel’s Micronauts content. It’s got Micronauts (1979) #1-29, Annual #1&2, and material from Micronauts Special Edition #1-5. The artwork is supposed to be completely restored and the omnibus will have house ads, letter pages and more! That’s going to cost your wallet $125 usd.

Oh man, this next omnibus is one I and many folk have been waiting a long time for…Captain America by Mark Gruenwald Omnibus #1! Now, Edelweiss doesn’t have what it’s collecting listed, but from what can be found elsewhere, we’ve got some idea. Captain America #307 – 350, Annual #8, Iron Man 228, Contents from Marvel Fanfare #26, 29, 31 & 32 and Amazing Spider-Man #278. With the book being a whopping 1,336 pages and costing $150 usd, I’d say that issue count may be pretty accurate. Vol. 1 alone barely scratches the surface of what Gruenwald wrote for the Captain America title. I’d expect at least three volumes out of this one! Your wallet is definetly going to beg for mercy after this one. This long-awaited book hits shelves June 4th, 2024!

 

From one classic run to another, we’re talking Spider-Man now! Specifically Spider-Man by Michelinie & Bagley Omnibus vol. 1! This omnibus is filled to the brim, collecting Amazing Spider-Man #351-375, Amazing Spider-Man Annual #25-26, material from Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #11-12, Web of Spider-Man Annual #7-8,  and New Warriors Annual #2. Interestingly enough, we have gotten a Michelinie & McFarlane omnibus, but no Larsen omnibus. So if you have the McFarlane omnibus like me, and get this, you’ll have somewhat of a gap in your reading. That isn’t to say you shouldn’t pick up this amazing collection on June 11th, 2024 for $125 usd.

 

Keeping it street level, here’s one I’ve been waiting on personally. Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky Omnibus vol. 1 is hitting shelves July 2nd, 2024. For $100 usd, issues #1-30 and annual #1 of Zdarsky’s run on Daredevil can be yours! This is most likely going to be a two volume set, so thankfully you won’t be too deep in the hole if you go all in on it.

 

 

To round off our highlights, we’ve got a wonderful collection coming from the mutant side of things. X-Factor: The Original X-Men Omnibus vol. 1. For $125 usd, you can own Avengers #263, Fantastic Four #286, X-Factor #1-26, X-Factor Annual  #1-2; Iron Man Annual  #8 Amazing Spider-Man #282 Thor  #373-374 & #377-378, Power Pack  #27 & 35; Mephisto Vs.  #2; Incredible Hulk  #336-337, Classic X-Men  #8 & 43, Secret Wars II #5 and material from Marvel Fanfare #40 in one single collection. This absolute brick of a book clocks in at 1224 pages and will be at your local shop on July 16th, 2024.

With the X-Factor omnibus, our highlights are concluded! That isn’t to say everything doesn’t deserve a spotlight, but there’s 215 titles in the catalog this time around. This article would look more like a novel if we did highlights of them all!
