What To Expect From Flame Con 2023

Being New York City’s premier comics & pride convention, Flame Con is no stranger to going all out with their guests and activities. This year will feature some of the biggest queer creators in both mainstream and indie comics, as well as hosting panels related to gaming, cosplay, art and more. The con starts this Saturday, August 12th 2o23, and tickets are still available here.

As for attendees, the Eisner-Award winning studio Tiny Onion will be making an appearance at the convention as one of this year’s biggest sponsors. Founder James Tynion the IVth (Something is Killing the Children, W0rldtr33) will be in attendance with panels on both Saturday and Sunday to talk about the creative process that goes into crafting Triple-A indie comics as well as constructing interconnected horror universes. Also in attendance as a sponsor will be Dark Horse Comics alongside the Tiny Onion Empire.

DC Comics Queen Stephanie Williams (Nubia: Queen of the AmazonsKnight Terrors: Wonder Woman) will also be in attendance, alongside fellow up and coming Marvel/DC superstars Alyssa Wong (Deadpool, Spirit World) and Josh Trujillo (Batman: Urban Legends, Blue Beetle: Graduation Day). Panels and events vary in activity, making the con a great on-stop-shop for all things geeky. There are gaming events, comics related conversation panels, literary performances, creative workshops, and so much more. Find the full schedule here, alongside a list of independent exhibitors.

The convention will take place at the Sheridan in Times Square, and does have COVID-19 protocols that must be followed in order to attend, the policy of which can be read in full here. Happy travels to all who attend!
