The YA graphic novel series, Hollow, continues in a new volume, Hollow: The Woman in White this July from BOOM! BOX. Written by Shannon Watters and Branden Boyer-White with art by Berenice Nelle, the story centers on the town of Sleepy Hollow, a hub of paranormal activity and the canvas for Izzy and Vicky’s unfolding relationship drama. In this second volume, tensions run high in the friend group as romance clashes with the pursuit of a ghost hunting web series.
Shannon spoke about continuing the series in the press release, stating:
“We got such an incredible response from readers on the first volume’s gorgeous visuals and sweet, spooky story, we couldn’t resist returning to the book’s world to show our version of Sleepy Hollow looking more distinctly beautiful than ever.”
This new volume follows the group investigating a disappearance of their friend Leon, which intersects with the town’s Woman in White local legend.
Boyer-White spoke about the influence of the legend, stating:
“Working on this next volume was a blast, because it gave us the opportunity to dive into another of the Hollow’s famous legends. The Woman in White is arguably the second most famous ghost in Sleepy Hollow after the Horseman, and imagining our own spin on her tale that would make readers laugh and feel a tingle in their spines was such a fun process.”
While Nelle is drawing the interior art for the volume, artist Naomi Franquiz illustrates the cover to the volume, depicting the titular folkloric legend. That cover can be seen below.
Nelle spoke about the direction of the artwork in the new volume, stating:
“It’s been a pleasure to revisit the charmingly quirky town of Sleepy Hollow, and to draw and color our young heroes as they grow with the challenges they face. It is time for them to meet and face another local legend in an all new adventure!”
Hollow: The Woman in White will be available in comic shops July 30, 2025 and in bookstores August 5, 2025. It will also be available for purchase via digital platforms.
