You’ll Spring Forward in Your Seat For David Mack’s THE SEASONS HAVE TEETH #1 Variant Cover

BOOM! Studios reveals that legendary artist David Mack will provide a variant cover to the upcoming first issue of The Seasons Have Teeth. The 4 four issue miniseries is written by Dan Watters, artist Sebastián Cabrol, colorist Dan Jackson, and letterer Nate Piekos of Blambot, and is set to hit comic stores April 12.

The series follows a retired photographer as he searches for  kaiju-esque embodiments of the seasons that arrive with the changes in the season. Alongside Mack, the first issue will also feature a cover from artist Qistina Khalidah, with additional variants from Duncan Fegredo and Sebastián Fiumara.

Mack may be best known in the mainstream superhero works for his writing, interior art, and cover work on Daredevil, and the covers for Alias. Mack also wrote and drew Kabuki for Calibur Comics, and worked on the title card sequence for Captain America: The Winter Solider and the opening sequence for the Netflix Jessica Jones series.

BOOM! revealed the variant covers and provided a synopsis for the first issue, which can be seen below.

Andrew, a retired conflict photographer, lives a life steeped in regret, pain, and sorrow. When the seasons arrive–each one embodied as powerful god-like creatures–everything for Andrew begins to change. As he risks everything to track down Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, he can’t help but hope that capturing the perfect picture of each will help him find his redemption…and maybe–just maybe–bring color back to his world.

The Seasons Have Teeth #1 will be in comic shops on April 12, 2023. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.
