‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Wants Derek Sampson to Return – with His Wrestling Entourage.

Actor Stephen Amell, who is the star of the hit TV series ‘Arrow’, is no stranger to the world of Pro-Wrestling. He and former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes (aka Stardust) feuded with each other, leading to their match at Summerslam in 2015. Rhodes, who is a fan of the show, returned the favor by making a special appearance in ‘Arrow’ as the villain Derek Sampson. The two have become fast friends.

Amell continues to star in Arrow, which is a loose adaptation of the Green Arrow comic book series from DC. It is currently in its 5th Season and recently finished the “Crisis of Earth-X” 4-part crossover arc with The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow, to much praise by critics and viewers. Rhodes (now under his ring name ‘Cody’) has since left WWE to join and represent the Bullet Club faction for New Japan Pro Wrestling (the 2nd most popular wrestling brand behind WWE), as well as Ring of Honor. Cody has contributed to making the Bullet Club the most popular wrestling faction in the world, despite never setting foot in the WWE.

Now, according to Yahoo!, Amell revealed that not only is he interested in bringing back Cody for another appearance in ‘Arrow’ but would like to include other members of the Bullet Club. Amell Quoted:

“I’m trying to get those guys to come out to one of these shows, as a group, I think that would be amazing. Those guys are great. Matt and Nick (Jackson) and Kenny (Omega) and Cody being the main guys I’ve been able to hang out with. I appreciate anyone that does something in an entrepreneurial spirit. Those guys are really paving their own way. I mean, we would decimate them in one episode. They would be the group that we would foil in act one, and then figure out what the real problem was. If Sampson was to come back on the show, it would only make sense that he would be surrounded by his group of Bullet Club friends.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently promoting its annual Wrestle Kingdom event, which is its counterpart to WWE’s Wrestlemania, coming January 4th in 2018. The event features Cody defending the Ring of Honor World Championship against Kota Ibushi (who participated in WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic in 2016) and Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega faces off against WWE’s Chris Jericho for the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship.
