Love Death + Robots
Recap
Long after the fall of humanity, three robots embark on a sightseeing tour of a post-apocalyptic city.
Review
This is one of my favorite episodes of the series. An interesting look at humans and their habits from an outsider point of view; filled with dry humor, great animation, and an awesome Terminator reference.
We explore a city where humans are long dead with X-bot 4000 and his two unnamed companions as they examine human artifacts and discuss human habits. The characters have fun, unique personalities but all have one thing in common; confusion over why humans were the way they were.
The plot is simple but interesting and the humor is intelligent and sometimes dark. The situational humor created by the ignorance of the human race shown by these three intelligent machines. The twist at the end of the episode was really interesting and added a strange new element to the episode.
The computer animation was well done with unique and interesting character models for each of the three main characters. The backgrounds at times looked photo realistic and the characters were very expressive.
This was an overall great episode and I would love to see more from these characters.
Final Thoughts
This is a splendid episode with great dry humor and beautiful animation.
