One Piece: A View from the Self-Proclaimed Queen of the Pirates (PART FIVE) *SPOILERS*

This episode will bring the last crew member from East Blue, and we need someone who can deliver our food with deliciousness. And who better to do that than Taz Skyler as he takes up the mantle for Sanji! I love the way Taz portrayed Sanji, and he did his best to capture who the character was and the passion he had for cooking. He pulled this all together and showed how amazing “Black Leg” Sanji is and his loyalty to the people around him. The way he speaks about the All Blue and how he loves to talk about his dream.

This episode brought a full circle when Zoro and Nami discussed their past while drinking. It was at this moment that a bond was struck between the both of them as they started to get to know each other and start to open up. This may lead to high emotions in the next episode as Mihawk appears, causing Zoro to declare a match between them. Mihawk’s appearance was something we have all been waiting for, and Steven John Ward does play a good Mihawk.

However, while the fight between Mihawk and Zoro was amazing to watch, the speech at the end fell flat for me. The emotions weren’t there as I expected them to be, and while Usopp and Nami held each other’s hands for comfort, they pulled on my heartstrings. It just didn’t bring tears to my eyes like the anime/manga did when it first happened.

Garp and Koby talk about Luffy, bringing a moment for them as they discuss the upstart pirate. These moments are scenes we haven’t seen in the anime/manga, and they do flesh out their resolve about being a marine.
