What You Should Know:
The Agents (sans Fitz) have been kidnapped and now find themselves in a station tucked in a slab of a decimated Earth. A tattered old postcard reads “I’m working on this–Fitz”.
What You’ll Find Out:
(SPOILERS AHEAD!) Rewind………back at the diner, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Phil, May, Daisy, Mack, Yo-Yo, Jemma, and Fitz were about to pick a slice of pie (apple, strawberry, rhubarb or chocolate-banana creme). Then the lights flicker and Fitz is left standing alone. Seconds later, government military agents burst in and take Fitz into custody.
For the next six months, which Fitz marks by drawing monkey heads on his cell wall, Fitz sleeps, eats, exercises, watches soccer games and pours through book after book in an effort to figure out what happened to Jemma and the others with occasional time taken to write letters to the editor of soccer magazines. One day Fitz’s lawyer shows up and — ta da!– it’s former S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Lance Hunter. Hunter blasts Fitz out of his cell and they take off in an RV Lance got from his friend Rusty.
Lance tells Fitz he and Bobbi Morse are still a couple just doing their own thing. The ride eventually ends at the home of The Creepy Bald Man from the season premiere. Creepy Bald Man introduces himself as Enoch. He also tells them he is a sentient Chronacom from a star in the constellation of Cygnus sent to observe the Earth over 30,000 years ago.
Enoch sent the other Agents through the Monolith into the future to the year 2091 to fulfill “The Seer’s” prophecy. “Tough Guy Fitz” comes forward and forces Enoch to take them to The Seer who is a young Inhuman girl drawing pictures in the park when they meet up with her. The group is forced to make a hasty escape when the G-Men arrive. Enoch says he is taking them to where he took the others…just not when he took them. He hands Fitz a postcard. The little Seer girl finally speaks and says Fitz wasn’t taken with the others because he’s needed to get them back home. To get Fitz to the future they need a pod used by Enoch a long time ago and it’s located back at the base they just escaped from. To cause a diversion Lance unleashes two ferrets who belonged to Rusty, the guy he borrowed the RV from.
Enoch sets Fitz up in the pod where he will spend the next 74 years in orbit to meet up with his friends.
What This Means For The Future:
After a week off, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns January 5, 2018. Enoch’s plan will pit Fitz against monsters, mobsters, and mercenaries. Oh my! And there’ll be a duel to the death between Quake, Destroyer of Worlds and the Freaky Blue Bitch, Sinara. Episode 506 is aptly titled “Fun & Games”.
Final Thought: Just a random thought but have you noticed that all the Watchers and Observers (Fringe) and Chronacoms all seem to be bald? Does all that watching cause stress on the hair follicles? Is there a War on Hair? Anyway, it’s great to see Lance Hunter back. Hopefully, we will get more of him this season. Do you think he knows Bobbi is shacking up with the Captain of The Orville?

Deathlok was the first Marvel Comics character to make an appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Whedon alum J August Richards played Mike Peterson who, after a disfiguring explosion, is transformed into the cyborg Deathlok by Project Centipede. His whereabouts have been unknown the past several seasons but getting him back on the show would make for a most welcome return as he fits in great with the show. Another character, John Garrett (the late Bill Paxton) was also upgraded with the Deathlok bionics before being killed off.
