Comic Watch’s Kickstarter Korner for November 5, 2022

Welcome to Comic Watch’s Kickstarter Korner!

It’s that time when we spotlight some projects that we hope you will support and help spread the word about these great indie titles and don’t forget to check out our previous posts to see if some of those campaigns are still running:

Sex, Spies, & Rock ‘n Roll Volume 1 and 2 catch up + more!

Get Volumes 1 and 2 of the hit Kickstarter Spy adventure series! Also get the spin off books and other goodies!

The 1980s. Music was loud. Fashion was louder. The hottest days of the Cold War were filled with intrigue, danger, and adventure. It was up to the International Security Foundation, and its network of daring secret agents to prevent the spies from other agencies from triggering a war to end all wars. And the planet.

These are those tales.

Last summer, Volume 1 was a huge hit on Kickstarter, and there were so many great stories and creators lining up for Volume 2, that we decided to spin off the main feature of Volume 1 (SPADES), into its own standalone comic in January. That campaign was such a smash hit, that we not only funded the expanded double-sized issue #1, but also funded the second anthology book, as well as the first issue of a two-part “secret origin” comic called “ISF Origins” (ISF means International Security Foundation).

Volume 2 of the anthology book picks up the storylines of Volume 1 featuring “Cowboy” (with new artist M. Fouad joining writer Nicholas Christianson-Messer and the team), “The Hitman”(with Miguel Guzman back on art, after doing the ISF Origins issue – which is sexy and action-packed!) (M. and Miguel have already finished the art for COWBOY chapter 3, and THE HITMAN chapter 3, for the forthcoming Volume 3!)

Volume 2 also features brand new adventures, including one cheekily called “Girl Spies” with Italian artist Elena Ominetti providing art as our main sexy spy, Cassi, teams up with Trish Burroughs (from Volume 1’s prose and art feature) and new character Natalie Wells, as they go undercover in a secret London sexual fetish club to catch a Soviet operative. This is a full-length adventure, and the main feature of Volume 2. (Elena was so much fun to work with, we’re enlisting her for a new 3-part GIRL SPIES adventure starting in Volume 3!)

G.H.O.S.T. Agents: Apocalyptico

Every story from GHOST Agents 1-3, some with remixed elements. Plus- new pages from Outlaw Comics icon Ken Landgraf

Across time and space, the clandestine organization called G.H.O.S.T. (Global Hierarchy Of Secret Tactics) sends its agents to combat threats with bad intentions- lycanthropic drug addicts, demons from the netherworld tearing into the space/time continuum, and the nihilistic, fashion obsessed terrorists collectively known as APOCALYPTICO

This is a collection of episodic, standalone stories all set in the same world and featuring a cast of new characters. It’s the wildly imaginative work of up and coming artists Chris Anderson, Ben Perkins, Barry Tan, Chris Fason, Christian J. Meesey (Meesimo), Adam Lemnah, John Burkett, Craig CK, Shawn Coots, Chris Humphreys, Dave Grom, Rick Lopez, Chris Fason, Danny Nicholas, Dave Praetorius, Miguel Galindo, Jason Foster, Peter Hensel, Tony Fero, and Sam J. Royale, all from stories written by Rocko Jerome.

This big, 120-page book collects material from the out-of-print and unavailable GHOST Agents issues 1, 2, and 3… but this time, several stories have alternate colors and a few new flourishes.
