Lots going on this week in the world of wrestling, from surprising returns to break-ups, this one is PACKED!!! Click away and let's get to it!!! #WWE #NXT #AEW

Wrestling fans sit back, strap in and let’s GO with another Wrestling Watchers week in review for October 5th-October 11th. As always, I’m your host the Immortal Jimmy Hayes, and I am SO in the mood to talk about wrestling, so let’s get down to business:

WWE makes people’s jaws drop for the second time this year: At Summer Slam, we didn’t see it coming. On Monday, everyone watching Raw did one huge collective spit-take when Ali was revealed as the leader of Retribution. I seriously don’t know how THAT wasn’t the last segment, but after that Randy Orton beat Drew McIntyre clean when he and Dolph Zigler and Robert Roode took on McIntyre & The Street Profits..the “visiting”? Braun Stroman beat Keith Lee in an exhibition match (because he’s a Smackdown superstar, he technically can’t wrestle on Raw)

Cody recaptures the TNT Championship. In a bloody, grueling, cringe-worthy match, Cody recaptured the TNT Championship from Mr. Brodie Lee. Greg Valentine, who took part in the most famous dog collar match in history, was in attendance, and you could even see him grimacing at the punishment that the wrestlers put themselves through. After the match members of the Dark Order came out to help Mr. Brodie Lee and strangely, they didn’t lay a hand on Cody…Chris Jericho teamed with Jake Hagar (who I don’t think ever got tagged in) to face off against Dr. Luthor and Serpentico. This match had special meaning as these were two of Jericho’s earliest foes, afterwards, Jericho and friend celebrated with “a little bit of the bubbly”

Ember Moon returns to action: Ember Moon made her long-awaited return to the ring when she and Rhea Ripley took on Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez, Moon and Ripley got the win in that match…..Dexter Loomis answered Austin Theory’s open challenge. Shortly after Loomis put Theory out Cameron Grimes came outta nowhere and stomped Loomis in the chest…the very unlikely team of Drake Maverick & Killian Dane beat Ever-Rise. After the match, Dane attacked his own partner, then had a change of heart and helped Maverick to the back

The New Day returns: And wins the Tag Team Championships by beating Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro. The victory was short-lived, however as minutes after their victory Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were drafted to Monday Night Raw, and Big E was drafted to Smackdown, breaking up the New Day for the first time in over ten years…..Lars Sulivan made a surprising return and laid out two tag teams without breaking a sweat…

IT’S DRAFT TIME AGAIN: WWE’s yearly draft kicked off on Smackdown this week. Look for a special Draft report soon, right here at Wrestling Watchers

Hot Tags: John Moxley’s new film: Cagefighter: World’s Collide is now available on Video On Demand and digital. Moxley plays a pro-wrestler that tries his hand in the world of MMA. WWE Superstar Christian is in the movie, he also produces the film… Jeremy Padawar from Jazzwares said on Twitter that AEW figures will be widely distributed in 2021, Padawar also said that new waves of figures will be released on a monthly basis…..Joey Ryan continues to sue everyone that had anything to do with the sexual assault claims brought against him, as he filed for two more lawsuits this past week…the state of Florida has totally reopened, meaning anybody can do anything they want, including packing a stadium full of wrestling fans! Look for crowds to get bigger, but please, be safe out there people!!

-As always, thank you for taking some time to read the weekly recap. If there’s ever anything I’m not covering that you’d like to see covered, drop me an email. Until then, keep watching wrestling, watch The Wrestling Watchers on Youtube and we’ll see you next week!!!
