Did You Hear About Mimi Green #2

Recap
Internet it girl Mimi Green was just hiding out from a scandal, but now she and her new friends are trapped in the sinister world beneath their chic inpatient facility. Mimi's secret lover Natalie senses something is amiss... but can she find Answers before the woman she loves is devoured?
Connor Goldsmith (the CEREBRO podcast) and Josh Cornillon (Young Men in Love) reopen old wounds as their grisly psychological horror story unfurls.
Review
Mimi’s nightmares are becoming more and more violent as the nights at Answer wear on. As she dives deeper and deeper into danger, she starts to learn more about her state of affairs and how maybe not everything is as she thought it was both in and out of this place.
The second issue of Mimi Green continues to dig further into its horror roots, while also expanding upon its titular character. Mimi isn’t necessarily a “good” person, but she is relatable and it’s clear those facets of her personality are going to be ripped open for all to see. Possibly at the hands of all the monsters she encounters in her dreams.
Connor Goldsmith gives a bit more introspection into Mimi this issue, and there it’s clear that he is using her as a vessel for some of his own frustrations. That’s not to say that there is anything wrong with that, in fact it makes certain moments hit that much harder because you can feel the genuine emotion behind the words. That’s not to say that there is no horror to be had here, far from it as Mimi starts to get more and more familiar with this nightmare world to the point that her own body starts to change to combat what she finds. Whether this will be a good or bad thing remains to be seen. There is also a second mystery brewing as Mimi’s partner Natalie searches for her, but the trail doesn’t lead where she initially expected.
Josh Cornillion’s art is in match step with Goldsmith’s enticing script. It doesn’t matter if the scene is dramatic, comedic, or horrific, the pencils never fail to capture the exact emotion needed. There is also an excellent sense of framing and scale that helps in immersing you in the story.
Final Thoughts
DYHAMG? #2 is another solid issue that encapsulates the fear of losing control, as well as the pain of self-loathing through a somewhat titled frame. Everything in the story is just off-center to keep you invested for a little while longer,
