Fruits Basket Prelude has been one of the most anticipated anime of 2022, and we’re pretty sure fans over the world are eagerly waiting for it to release in Theaters. So, we’ve got some exciting news for you.
Fruits Basket is coming to melt your hearts once again and also to conclude the emotional story of Tohru Honda. Titled “Fruits Basket – Prelude,” has been acquired by Crunchyroll for Theatrical Releases, and it’ll be arriving in movie theaters in the United States and Canada on June 25, 28, and 29. The film will also be receiving a dubbed release on July 20 with tickets going on sale on June 24.
This prequel film is a standalone story that sets before Tohru meets Soma family and focuses on Kyoto and Katsuya Honda before their tragic death set them apart.
The film is based on award-winning Shoujo manga Fruits Basket written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya and Fruits Basket – Prelude is directed by Yoshihide Ibata, who formerly worked on Fruits Basket and Attack on Titan: Junior High.
The animation studio is provided by TMS Entertainment and 8PAN who previously animated amazing works like Fruits Basket, Dr. Stone, and Bakuon!!
