Dark Horse and James Tynion IV announce they are partnering to bring the prolific author’s Substack original series, Blue Book and The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos to print. Blue Book #1 is set for a release of February 22, 2023, while Christopher Chaos #1 releases June 7, 2023. The two series, published under Tynion’s Tiny Onion Studios, helped to kick off the Substack push into comics. The announcement also follows right after a successful Kickstarter for a live action short film, Room Service, written by Tynion, partnering with director PK Colinet and artist Elsa Charretier to bring the short to life.
The first series coming to Dark Horse is Blue Book, written by Tynion with art by Michael Avon Oeming, and letters by Aditya Bidikar. The series examines true stories of alien encounters and the supernatural, and each issue features a backup story drawn by Klaus Janson. The second series, The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos is based on a concept developed by Tynion, and is written by Tate Brombal with art by Isaac Goodhart, colors by Kurt Michael Russell, and letters by Aditya Bidikar. The series is a LGBTQ+ horror-hero coming-of-age series following a young mad scientist thrown into a new world when a potential crush turns out to be a monster.

Blue Book #1 (of 5) will be available in print starting February 22, 2023 and will include three variant covers: a foil variant by Michael Avon Oeming and variants by Dave Johnson and Jill Thompson. The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos #1 (of 5) will be available June 7, 2023.
