This past Saturday, Mutant Watch had the luck of sitting with artist Rod Reis of the current New Mutants run. This run, formerly written by Jonathan Hickman and Ed Brisson, has found its balance and growing potential in the scripts of Vita Ayala and the art of Reis as the ongoing creative team. We talk with Rod about everything from the creative process (and how it resembles artistry) and the close collaboration with Vita, his experience as a long-time DC Comics colorist and how it has shaped coloring his own art, representation in comics and the sensibilities of bringing trans and non binary characters to the page, and so much more. You can check the full conversation in the video bellow.
